How to Setup
Firstly, shuffle through the cards and find the 4 ace cards and place them in a horizontal row on the table. These 4 aces are the horses.
Deal 8 cards on the table in a perpendicular manner to the Aces, such that they form an “L” shape on the table with the ace cards.
All the cards in the column are called the Links.
Once the set up is done, players will bet on the ace card or horse they think will win. Such bets are to be quantified using the number of drinks and suit of the card. So if you are betting on an ace of diamond with 5 drinks, then you will say 5 on diamonds.
Before the game begins, players have to drink half the number of drinks they have bet.
How to Play
First of all the players choose an Announcer among themselves. The announcer can be chosen by any way the players decide mutually.
Once players are done betting, the announcer flips the top card from the deck of the cards. The suit of this card is important. The ace card of the same suit moves 1 link forward.
Every time the horse moves one link upwards for the first time, the link card is flipped and the ace card of the suit to which that flipped link card belongs is moved 1 link back.
The announcer continues to draw cards and move the ace cards of the horses accordingly. The ace card that finishes the last link or final line wins the game.
The players who bet on the winning ace card give two times the number of drinks they wagered and those who lost the bet will drink half the wager.
