Perudo is an auction game that requires players to roll the dice and then bet on the total number of dice with a specific value. The aim of the game is to not lose the dice before other players while making bids on the dice rolled.

How to Setup
To begin with, roll the dice to see which player goes first. Now all the players take their cups and 5 dice of the same color.
How to Play
All the players shake their cups to mix the dice and place it upside down in their front and keep the dice under the cup. Thus, the dice are now invisible. All the players can look at their dice under the cup. The game proceeds in a clockwise direction. The players are now allowed to bud the number of dice with a certain value from all the dice of that player.
The first player will make a bid. No player can start the auction by betting on the number of pacos. Whereas, Pacos act as jokers. They can automatically take the dice value that was announced in the auction.
For instance, a player who has 2 fours, 2 Pacos and a five will actually have 4 fours or 3 fives.
At their turn, the next player can do the below-
1. Outbid
This can be done in the following ways –
· By announcing a higher value – out of 7 four, announce 7 five.
· By announcing more dice – Out of 6 four, announce 7 four.
· By betting on the number of Pacos. This means, the number of dice bet have to be at least halved. For instance, out of 9 four, announce 5 pacos.
· By returning from a pacos auction to the normal auction. Here, the players will have to double the number of dice and add one. For instance, on 5 pacos, outbid 11 three.
2. By announcing that the bid was wrong. Here, there are lesser dice than the number announced in the previous bid. In such a situation, the player announces Dudo., which means ‘I doubt’. When this happens, all the players reveal their dice. In case the bid was right, the player who doubted will lose a die. In case the bid was wrong, the player who made the wrong bid will lose a die.
Since the number of dice will increase with every bid, there will come a time when the bid will go too high and some or the other player will say Dudo. This will further trigger the loss of a dice from any one of the players.
Then a new round will begin and the player who had lost a die will be the first now to make a bid. In case the player has just lost their last dice, then they are eliminated from the game and the player to their left will begin the game.
Palifico
Palifico is a Perudo rule that comes into action when a new round is started and a player has just lost their penultimate die and is left with only one die. The rules for the round then change in the below way –
· Pacos are no more the wild cards.
· Players cannot change the value of the bid dice by the player who made the bet first.
· Players can thus only outbid the number of dice.
· The player starting can bet on Pacos as they have become normal values.
So, if a player announces 2 sizes, then the next player must say 3 sixes, 4 sixes and more or say Dudo. Only sixes will be counted without the Pac.
End of the game
Perudo game ends when except for one, all other players have been eliminated. The one player who is not eliminated wins Perudo.
Variations
Calza is one of the most popular versions of Perudo. If a player thinks that the last announced bid was correct, then they announce calza. But if the bid is not correct, they are wrong and then loose a die. But if correct, then they win a die. This happens within the limit of the five starting dice.
Irrespective of the Calza result, that player then begins the next round. The player whose bid is announced correct is safe even though the bid is wrong. The only player who risks having the number of their dice changed is the one who announced Calza. Note that, players cannot declare Calza while a Palifico round is going on or when only 2 players are left in the game.
